Standard First Aid Re-Certification
Highly proficient and knowledgeable first aiders can complete a Red Cross First Aid and CPR Re-Certification course. The Re-Certification is designed to re-test and provide program updates to the learner in order to extend their certification by an additional 3 years. The Re-Certification course is not designed to re-educate fundamental principles of first aid or teach skills, but provide an opportunity for the learner to demonstrate core knowledge, competency and skill while receiving coaching and feedback to improve proficiency in learned and practiced emergency response behaviours.
Canadian Red Cross First Aid, with CPR & AED training is acknowledged and approved by the Government of Alberta and the Government of Canada OH&S, and COR (Certificate of Recognition) Programs
Course content includes:
- The Red Cross
- Preparing for Emergencies
- The role of a First Aider
- EMS / 9-1-1
- Choking
- Life Threatening Bleeding
- Heart Attacks and Strokes
- CPR
- AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
- Soft Tissue Injuries
- Anaphylaxis

Classes begin at 9:00 AM. Participants are encouraged to arrive 10 minutes early for registration.
All Participants must SEND proof of current and valid certification through a recognized Canadian body (Canadian Red Cross, St. John’s Ambulance, Heart & Stroke) prior to the course date.
